About The Designer

Greetings, once again!

I'm Emily, though most know me as 'Emu' among friends and colleagues. The name 'Emel' in EmelArtistry is derived from the fusion of my first and middle names (Emily Elizabeth), it also works well with many of my nicknames including Emu (Emu Eli). I grew up with other Emilys and Emmas, so many of us went by something different. The name Emu just happened to stick around much longer than I anticipated. And I love it!

EmelArtistry is a moniker that has stuck with me since third grade, originating from a project that asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" In fact, I have kept the same artist signature since first grade! It was inspired by how my mom used to sign my homework planner. Today, many still recognize me and my creations as EmelArtistry.

Fueled by a lifelong dream and an unwavering passion for storytelling, I'm an artist, illustrator, and graphic designer.

Graduating with a BS in Graphic Design from Full Sail University in 2024, I honed my skills and creativity. A standout project, my Greeting Yellow case study, delved into branding, packaging, and advertisement designs for a Greeting Card and Stationery business.

Currently, I wear multiple hats as the COO of Niche & Nicknacks. My roles involve diverse responsibilities—managing inventory, engaging customers, crafting social media content, and supporting coworkers through visual aids and positive reinforcement.

You may also find me working diligently alongside other community members as we dive into the work of NC K-pop Hive!

‍Simultaneously, I'm fervently building my own art and design business, envisioning a brand and agency that empowers others' dreams through fine art, visual aids, engaging resources, and unique artwork. My primary goal is to bridge the gap between ideas and reality through compelling visual storytelling.

In the literary realm, I'm immersed in crafting my debut self-help book, "When Happiness Pursues You." Exploring themes of happiness, contentment, vulnerability, and letting go of perfection, the book emphasizes that happiness often finds you when you stop searching for it.
